Who is eligible to participate?

An individual may be eligible to participate if they:

  • Are 55-85 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease by a doctor
  • Have an available study partner (caregiver) who can be present for all study visits and remote visits
  • Experience one or more of the following behaviors: Resisting help from others (i.e., with daily activities), being uncooperative or stubborn (insistence on having their own way), screaming or shouting, cursing angrily, hitting self or others, kicking, pushing, throwing objects, or slamming doors

The study doctor will work with the patient to assess additional criteria not listed here to determine if they are eligible to take part in the study.

To be eligible to participate in a clinical trial, potential participants must meet all of the “inclusion criteria” and none of the “exclusion criteria.” These criteria can be quite strict for the safety and accuracy of the study. As with other types of research, it is important to minimize variation in the study population so that they are not influenced or clouded by too many variables. All of this will be discussed with you before agreeing to participate in the study.
