What is a trigger or flare-up?

A trigger when something irritates the atopic dermatitis, causing a flare-up of symptoms. The weather can aggravate or trigger a flare-up, some may find winter worse due to the cold, dry weather, others may be irritated by summer’s heat and or humidity. Majority of individuals living with Atopic Dermatitis find cold, dry weather to make their skin lesions worse.
